Element uniform mass + eccentricity

Definition of eccentrically acting uniformly distributed element masses for dynamic analyses.  Note that masses are defined as forces and internally converted to true masses  by dividing by the gravity constant g (see Calculation options - Dynamic)

Note: For detailed load explanation see also RM Bridge Load Types Library .
Note: Loads of this type do not apply to static calculations.
SettingDescription
From, To, Step Series of elements, where the masses are applied
g*mx, g*my, g*mz Distributed element mass forces (masses/length-unit times acceleration of gravity) Components in local directions.
Note: The same value must be entered for all 3 directions! (mass is scalar value)
g*Imx Distributed element mass moment of inertia in local x direction (Torsion).
ey,ez Eccentricities of distributed element masses, measured from the system line.
Note: The mass eccentricities are not related to the local element coordinate system, but to the connection line between start and end node of the element. (However, the intensity values are related to the clear length of the elements).
